Company search

Press the Find button to start a search for companies whose records contain the terms entered in the search fields.

The simplest expression is one or more words.
Make your search more exact by entering terms in more than one field.

Each additional search term is the same as saying - and (eg entering "Broken" in the company name field and NSW in the state field will return all companies who have "Broken" in their company name and are in the state of New South Wales)

Most fields are self explanatory - though you may like to note the special features of each field:

Company name field

Enter Company names as exactly as you can. Use whole words only - try to avoid single letters or numbers. If your search is not successful, try again with or without the spaces or punctuation.

(eg A E Smith & Son Pty Ltd - enter "Smith Son"  with the space. This is the same as saying, give me every company that contains the word Smith and the word Son in its name. Entering the A or E will be unsuccessful because single letters are not indexed in the database)

You can enter any part of a company name, and the record will be found if that text string appears in:

- Any part of the company name
- Any part of its trading as name
- Any part of its common name
- Any part of the former name

You can use wildcards (*) to find any part of a word in a company name.
